Amazon really knows how to treat its customers right. In addition to the low prices, they make returns so easy. In fact, sometimes you don’t even have to return something that doesn’t work out for you.
I needed to return an $8 curtain rod holder. To my surprise, when I went to generate the RMA on Amazon, I got the image above.
Now Amazon doesn’t always do this. I’ve returned a fair amount of things and never seen this before. I’m sure Amazon has some algorithm for deciding when to be magnanimous based on the cost of handling the return, the volume of purchases we make on the site, and the expected goodwill generated. But still, this is what makes them great. Why would I order from any other site when Amazon makes it so easy, both to purchase and to return? Oh right, I wouldn’t.
